Working with Academy Award–winning Cinematographer Walter Lassally

Attending the Maine Media directing workshop provided me the opportunity to be mentored by the legendary German-born British cinematographer Walter Lassally. As a storyteller with a passion for oil painting and photography, working with a master like Walter Lassally was an absolute dream come true for me. I could've spent the entire day analyzing and tweaking the lighting with his cinematography students.

Best known for his Academy Award–winning cinematography in the film classic ZORBA THE GREEK, Walter was closely associated with the Free Cinema movement in the 1950s and the British New Wave in the early 1960s.
